DeSoto County Justice Court handles all misdemeanors for the county. We also handle traffic tickets for the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Office, Reservoir Patrol, Constables, Game & Fish and Dept. of Transportation.

The Justice Court Clerk is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The clerk, Shirley Beshears, is the administrator of the court. Justice Court Judges are elected from their respective districts as well as the constables, but the judges and constables have county wide jurisdiction.

Justice Court has civil jurisdiction up to $2,500. All cases are filed with the clerk's office and rotated to the judges.
