The DeSoto County Road Department is directed by the Road Manager. The Road Manager is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The county is divided into divisions, each managed by a superintendent. Responsibilities include road repair, road construction projects, of limited size, maintaining drainage, and mowing roadways during the growing seasons.
The Central Maintenance location operates a maintenance shop for county vehicles and equipment. The employees at this location take road condition complaints as well as schedule pick ups for leaves, limbs and other non-household waste items.
