The DeSoto Health and Wellness Center provides health care for the working poor and medically uninsured. With the help of local government, businesses, civic groups and grant funds, the Health and Wellness Center serves the citizens of DeSoto County that do not have medical insurance.  Estimates are that 30,000 people in DeSoto County are uninsured.  In 2008, the Health and Wellness Center saw over 4,000 patients.
