Matt Hanks, Director Andrew McColgan, GIS Analyst 365 Losher Street Suite 200 Hernando, MS 38632 Phone: (662) 429-1306 The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department is a new department and will play a support role for all County departments and other offices related to mapping and digital mapping information. The concept of GIS links information to maps to help with decision-making. The department will be the focal point for information and will update existing maps and develop new maps. It will be the office charged with coordination with other offices to help ensure up-to-date maps with less duplication of efforts. As new maps and information are developed, the department will be responsible for maintaining items such as air photos, zoning maps, floodplain maps, the official road map, etc. and will work closely with existing departments such as planning, the road department, E-911, the Assessor’s Office, the County Engineer, emergency management, and data processing. MAPS The GIS Department has provided the following maps available in .pdf format. To view these files, you must have the FREE Adobe Reader program installed.
