The Extension Service is affiliated with Mississippi State University. This department provides agriculture and horticulture expertise to the citizens of DeSoto County. Soil sample kits can be obtained by contacting the Extension Service. These kits can be mailed to Mississippi State University for testing and determining solutions for problem soil. The Extension Service provides a variety of resources to residents of the county.
