The DeSoto County Animal Shelter assists in containing stray animals by picking up stray dogs and cats. The Animal Control officers collect any vicious animals or wild animals roaming in DeSoto County. All services of this department are provided and monitored under the Animal Control Ordinance established by the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors.
The animal control officers maintain an office in Nesbit at the DeSoto County Animal Shelter where the animals are kept and made available for adoption.
